My Story

A personal letter from our Founder, Chrissie Rucker OBE

“As The Founding Patron for The Change A Girl’s Life Campaign for The Prince’s Trust, can I possibly persuade you to join us this October and help to change the lives of vulnerable young women in the UK?

The Brilliant Breakfast is an urgently needed initiative The White Company is proud to sponsor. The young women it supports are truly incredible – and have often faced issues, such as domestic abuse, bullying, long-term unemployment, addiction, homelessness, the challenges of single parenthood, or simply have no emotional support at home. However, it's incredible to see what they can achieve, with just a little bit of the right help at the right time.

Vulnerable young women too, have been among the very hardest hit by the economic impact of the pandemic, meaning they need support more than ever before.

The funds we raise will enable The Prince’s Trust to help more young women – providing life-changing support to help rebuild lost confidence and mentorship, plus help to move forward into a job, further training, or self-employment.

Would you possibly join us in one of the following ways? Because, together, we can make an even bigger difference”

How your donation helps

Every donation, no matter how small, will make a difference and go towards supporting more vulnerable young women into a job, further education, or self-employment

£25 = travel to a two-week course that will help them gain work experience.

£50 = travel to work in the month before their first pay cheque.

£100 = equipment that opens up a lifelong career for one young woman.

£250 = the freedom to explore their business idea through a ‘will it work’ grant.

£500 = a 12-week personal development course, which builds practical and emotional skills to take that next step into work, education, or training.

£1,000 = five laptops needed to further their education.

£5,000 = seven spaced on a residential week where they are encouraged to push their boundaries to develop the skills needed to move forward.

“My dream when I launched this project was: wouldn’t it be amazing if we could persuade everyone who can – to change the life of a young woman who, through no fault of her own, just needs a helping hand. I can’t tell you how incredible it has been to see the real difference we can make, so please get involved in any way you can. Thank you so much.”
